New Delhi: Former wrestling association president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has received a big blow from the Rouse Avenue court in the case of alleged sexual exploitation of female wrestlers. The court has ordered framing of charges against Brij Bhushan. Rouse Avenue Court has also ordered framing of charges against Brij Bhushan Secretary Vinod Tomar. The court said that there is enough evidence to frame charges against Brij Bhushan.
Charges will be framed under these sections
An order has been made to frame charges against Brij Bhushan Singh under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354-A (sexual harassment) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation). There is evidence to frame charges against Vinod Tomar under section 506(1).
Delhi Police had filed the charge sheet on June 15 last year.
On June 15, 2023, Delhi Police registered a case against Brij Bhushan Singh under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354-A (sexual harassment), 354-D (stalking), And a charge sheet was filed under section 506 (criminal intimidation).
Next hearing will be held on May 21
The next hearing of this case will be on May 21. The court has acquitted Brij Bhushan of all the charges of the sixth female wrestler victim while ordered to frame charges on the allegations of the remaining five female wrestler victims. Actually, the allegations of the female wrestlers were investigated by Delhi Police after which Brij Bhushan A charge sheet was filed against Sharan. On April 26, the court had reserved its decision regarding framing of charges based on the charge sheet of Delhi Police.
