New Delhi. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren witnessed a significant development when his chief daughter-in-law Sita Soren recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP state in-charge for Jharkhand Laxman Gilua warmly welcomed him into the party along with Rajya Sabha MP Lakshmi Kant Vajpayee and party national secretary Vinod Tawde. This move of Sita Soren comes just hours after her announcement of leaving JMM. After this decision, he also resigned from the membership of the state assembly. Her husband, Durga Soren, passed away recently, leaving her brother-in-law, Hemant Soren, as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
However, Hemant Soren’s tenure was full of controversies as he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a land scam case on January 31. After this, JMM elected Champai Soren as the leader of the legislature party and he took oath as the new Chief Minister.
