New Delhi. Only 42 lakh notes kept in the bank’s box got lost. The case is of Punjab National Bank of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Where 42 lakh rupees got rotten due to the negligence of the bank. Common man deposits his money in the bank for safekeeping. But how does the bank itself keep the responsibility of the notes kept with it. Its hallmark has been seen in a branch of PNB Bank located in Pandu Nagar, Kanpur. Here, 42 lakh notes kept in the currency chest in PNB Bank got spoiled when kept in water. It is being told that about 03 months ago these notes were kept in a box. During this, due to some reason the water got lost in the box. But the bank personnel saw the note kept on top of the box. Did not notice the notes kept at the bottom of the box. The water supplied to the bank employees must have dried up.

According to the information received from the sources, there was no place to keep much money in the safe of the bank. When the cash was high, the notes were filled in a box and kept against the wall. At the same time, due to excessive rain, due to excessive dampness of the basement wall, water went into the box. The box was not seen for long and 42 lakh notes got rotten.
During this, the team of RBI arrived to inspect. After which when the investigation was started, the matter reached the top officials. For which a team came again. After this investigation, the Vigilance team also started action and raised question marks as to why the notes were not taken care of. At present, the RBI has suspended four officials of Pandu Nagar branch in the matter.
