This appeal was made to Rahul in the Congress Working Committee meeting
The Congress Working Committee on Saturday unanimously passed a resolution urging former party president Rahul Gandhi to take up the responsibility of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The party leader in the lower house will be the Leader of the Opposition. Congress has won 99 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
However, Rahul Gandhi said that he will consider this proposal but he needs some time to think. In this meeting, the party leaders also talked about the seats won and lost in the Lok Sabha. In the party meeting, president Mallikarjun Kharge said, ‘The party’s seats have increased in the places where Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra passed.’ During this, Kharge congratulated the party leaders for their excellent performance in the elections.
After the Congress CWC meeting, Congress leader KC Venugopal said, ‘The Congress Working Committee has unanimously passed a resolution requesting Rahul Gandhi to accept the post of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. He replied that he will think about it.’
