Ghaziabad. As soon as the Lok Sabha elections are over, the administrative department has become active. In Uttar Pradesh, the work of linking Aadhaar card to bank accounts, updating APCI mapper and enabling DBT has started again. In such a situation, beneficiaries of many other schemes including widow pension beneficiaries may have to face problems in the coming days. The UP government has asked all the districts to take strict action in this regard. If the officials are to be believed, even after repeated requests, thousands of widow pensioners have not yet enabled DBT, let alone linking their bank accounts to Aadhaar.
According to the press note of District Probation Officer Ghaziabad, the Directorate of Women Welfare Uttar Pradesh Lucknow has sent a list of 5380 beneficiaries of Ghaziabad district who have linked their Aadhaar with the department under the pension scheme. But they have not linked their Aadhaar with their bank accounts. The district administration has asked such pensioners to immediately link their Aadhaar with their bank accounts.

It is written in the notice that the beneficiaries of women’s pension, especially widow pension, in Ghaziabad district, who have not linked their Aadhar card to their bank account and have not DBT enabled their account by updating the bank account on NPCI MAPPER, are informed to immediately contact their bank and get their bank account linked to Aadhar as well as get the account DBT enabled by updating it on NPCI MAPPER, so that their pension amount can be sent to their account on time.
Let us tell you that this is the story of not only Ghaziabad but every district of UP. Most of the widow pension recipients are poor and illiterate and hence have to face a lot of problems. In such a situation, the district administration was instructed for the last several months to help such women link their accounts with Aadhaar. Also, update DBT and NPCI mapper.

Due to non-compliance of KYC in entire UP, the crisis may increase for lakhs of beneficiaries receiving widow pension. The government has asked for the list of beneficiaries in entire Uttar Pradesh including Ghaziabad, so that the pension can be released on time. But thousands of bank accounts have not been DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) enabled while updating them on NPCI MAPPER. This may cause problems in getting this widow pension on time.
