The world famous Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand is going to start formally from 10th May. There is more enthusiasm among the devotees regarding this year’s Chardham Yatra. This time online registrations for Chardham Yatra have started from 15th April. So far 16.37 lakh passengers have registered. The big thing is that this time the registrations for Chardham Yatra till the month of May have been completed. The enthusiasm among the passengers is so much that even the heli services and hotels are already full. Apart from this, this time the government has decided to provide stall facility along with token system for the devotees during Chardham Yatra.
Registrations completed from 10th May to 31st May
According to a data, for the Chardham Yatra starting from May 10, registrations from May 10 to May 31 have been completed so far. So far, 2,72,506 pilgrims have registered for Yamunotri Dham, 3,03,505 for Gangotri, 5,77,241 for Kedarnath Dham and 4,83,879 for Badrinath Dham in Chardham Yatra. Till May 28, a total of 16,37,131 pilgrims have registered themselves for the Chardham Yatra. At the same time, 27,261 pilgrims have so far registered themselves for Hemkund Sahib.
Fight for heli ticket
Travelers coming to Chardham Yatra visit Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham the most. Since the disaster of 2013, the number of passengers in Kedarnath has been increasing year by year, in view of which the government has had to upgrade the heli service also. According to information received from Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA), the number of passengers arriving by helicopter in Kedarnath is also breaking records. The situation is that till now the heli ticket booking for the months of May and June is full.
Protest against the fixed limit of devotees
At the same time, let us tell you that in view of the crowd in Chardham Yatra, the government has set a time limit, which is now being opposed. Along with Chardham Teerth Purohit Mahapanchayat, people from hotel and homestay organizations have also started giving warnings. He says that when the number and capacity of passengers staying in Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, Kedarnath temples along with the lower areas i.e. Yatra halts is more, then why is the number of passengers being limited.
