Know the benefits of angiography
Angiography is done to identify the cause of chest pain, heart attack, to plan the removal of blockage in the arteries, to identify obstruction in the blood supply to the legs, to know about the obstruction in the blood supply to the lungs. In this, the blockages in the blood circulation of the heart are examined by injecting contrast dye in the waist or arm of the patient. This is called angiography and its report is called angiogram. This safe and painless procedure can take from 30 minutes to two hours. Please note that this test gives the correct status of the blockage and whether angioplasty should be done or bypass surgery. Please note that in case of angioplasty, valves are installed during angiography itself.
