Patna. The Bihar Monitoring Investigation Bureau has achieved two successes on Monday. The team of monitoring Investigation Bureau arrested Lalganj Block Development Officer (BDO) Neelam Kumari and his driver Avinash Kumar in Vaishali district, taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 as a bribe, while Girish Tiwari, a revenue employee of Wooden Naviganj in Siwan district, took a bribe of Rs 35,000 for the monitoring team.
An official of the Monitoring Investigation Bureau said that Lalganj BDO Neelam Kumari and his driver Avinash Kumar were arrested from the Block Development Officer Office taking a bribe of Rs 20,000. It was told that Mithilesh Kumar, a resident of Kartaha Jagdishpur village of Kartaha police station, had lodged a complaint with the bureau that BDO Neelam Kumari was demanding bribe to pay the second and third installment under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
After verification of the case, a team was formed under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar Srivastava. On Monday, the party took action and arrested the main accused BDO Neelam Kumari for taking a bribe of Rs 20,000. His driver Avinash Kumar has also been arrested in this case. BDO Neelam Kumari has been posted in Lalganj since February 2024.
Meanwhile, the monitoring Bureau team on Monday arrested Girish Tiwari, a revenue employee of Wooden Naviganj in Siwan district, taking a bribe of Rs 35,000 as part of a second action on Monday. It is said that wood was taking 35 thousand rupees to resolve the dispute related to this ownership from Ajit Kumar Singh, a resident of Naviganj, when the bureau team caught them.
