Patna. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Ritlal Yadav was raided on Friday from Danapur, adjacent to Bihar’s capital Patna. During this period, Rs 10.5 lakh cash, blank checks worth Rs 77.5 lakh, six pen drives including land documents and a walkie-talkie were recovered.
Police is taking action at the residence of Danapur MLA and RJD leader Ritlal Yadav. A team of about 200 policemen led by SP Bhanu Pratap Singh raided the MLA’s house. During the raid, Rs 10 lakh 50 thousand cash, blank check of Rs 77 lakh, documents related to land of many persons, walkie-talkie sets, six pen drives and other electronic materials have been recovered.
According to police sources, the raids are still going on. No arms have been confirmed so far. However, the seized goods are being investigated and further action will be taken based on this.
SP Bhanu Pratap Singh said, “This action has been taken on the basis of a special information. The matter is considered serious and its wires may be related to many other cases. A person filed a extortion case against him, raids are going on.”
The SP did not reveal the name of the applicant due to the threat of life. He said, “There have been serious allegations like promoting organized crime like demanding extortion against the MLA. In view of these allegations, raids of MLAs and his colleagues were raided. In the raid, there are Rs 10.5 lakh cash and blank check recovery of Rs 77.5 lakh. Is being taken further action. “
He said that the MLAs were not at the residence during the raid.
