Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a special package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore for Bihar at the 2015 election rally. After this, several additional packages were also announced in the middle years. According to the government, most of the announcements of these packages are almost complete due to the efforts of the state’s double engine government. Bihar has got new pace in road, rail and air transport. According to the government, the largest part of the package was connected to the Ministry of Road Transport, under which 74 projects were announced to lay a network of 2,836 km long roads. It costs Rs 51,540 crore. Out of these, work on 44 road projects has been completed. This made 1,304 km of new roads in the state and Rs 14,898 crore was spent on them. It also includes some large road projects. For example, the reconstruction and rehabilitation work of Mahatma Gandhi Setu at a cost of Rs 1742 crore under NH-19, Patna-Gaya-Dobhi construction at a cost of Rs 1680 crore under HH-83, Simaria-Khagadia Fourlane Road at a cost of Rs 1063 crore on NH-31 at a cost of Rs 1063 crore, Kailawar Bhojpur Fourlane Road at Rs 750 crore at a cost of Rs 750 crore, Rs 595 crore at a cost of Rs 750 crore, Rs. 595 crore at a cost of Rs 750 crore. Fourlane Road.

Work on 22 road projects is going on

There are 22 such road projects under the road transport package, which are being constructed under the supervision of the Union Ministry of Road Transport. 25,933 crore is being spent on the construction of these roads 1,570 km long. Work on 11 of these projects will be completed by the end of the current financial year. Similarly, work on all 22 road projects will be completed by the financial year 2027-28. Apart from this, there are five such projects which are to start soon. The cost of this 271 km long project is Rs 5,797 crore. There are two projects that are in the phase of acceptance. Work will start as soon as they get their approval. Sonbarsa and Raxaul road projects have been postponed in these road projects. This is because the region is involved in the Border Road Project being built on the Indo-Nepal border at the level of the Ministry of Defense. The 22 projects on which work is underway include a four-lane bridge parallel to Mahatma Gandhi Setu, a four-lane road to Patna-Koilwar, four-lane road to Umgaon-Saharsa as well as a bridge over Kosi, Munger-Mirzachowi, four-lane road, Vikramashila Setu, being built on the Ganges river, and other projects. The second major part of the Bihar package is nine railway projects, out of which five have been completed and four are going to be completed soon. So far, 652 km railway line has been constructed or doubled at a cost of Rs 4,841 crore. While four projects of 466 km at a cost of Rs 7,736 crore are going on. Major railway projects to be completed by the end of this year include doubling of Kiul-Gaya line, doubling between Samastipur-Darbhanga, third line between Dhanbad-Sonnagar and doubling of Rampur Dumra Tall line and construction of Rajendra Bridge.

Five airports will be built including Patna

The construction of airports in five cities has been approved with the objective of providing better connectivity by connecting cities to other cities other than the capital Patna. This includes construction of airports in Bihta, Gaya, Raxaul and Purnia besides Patna. Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna has been renovated at a cost of Rs 1,216 crore. Its new building and terminal have been built. Similarly, Gaya Airport has also been developed at a cost of Rs 68 crore 72 lakh. While construction is about to begin in Bihta and Purnia. Recently, the Prime Minister inaugurated the construction of the new terminal of Bihta Airport along with Patna Airport. Construction of Purnia Airport is likely to start soon. Land survey work is going on in Raxaul. After this, construction will start here too.
