It is said that when a person’s spirit is high, he can do anything. Something similar has been proved by Suraj Kumar, a prisoner of Nawada Mandal jail. While in jail, Sooraj has cracked the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) of IIT. In the result released last week, Suraj has got 54th rank in All India. He will now be able to do master’s degree course by taking admission in IIT Roorkee.
According to the family members, the then Divisional Jail Superintendent Abhishek Kumar Pandey played an important role in his success. It is said that on getting the information, the jail superintendent provided him with books and other materials including notes for the examination inside the jail. Due to which Suraj’s lofty spirit got wings and by preparing inside the jail, he set a record. On February 13, he went on parole from jail and took the exam.
Suraj wants to become a scientist
Suraj Kumar alias Kaushlendra Kumar is the son of Arjun Yadav of Mosma village of Warisaliganj. Prior to this, he prepared for IIT JEE examination by staying in Kota for a year. Meanwhile, Suraj was named in the case of the death of a person in a fight in a drain dispute over the village and was arrested and sent to jail on 19 April 2021. When he came to jail, he broke down and in the meantime he got an opportunity to listen to the motivational speech of Jail Superintendent Abhishek and see the creativity and impressed by this, he met him and they helped him in every way possible.
