The TMC government is now seen on the backfoot over the incident of 8 people being burnt alive in violence among their own workers in Birbhum district of Bengal. On Wednesday, the High Court had ordered the government not to allow the evidence to be destroyed in this case and submit the report by 2 pm on Thursday. Not only this, the High Court had given a strict order that CCTV cameras should be installed around the incident site so that the development can be monitored. After this order of the court, cameras started being installed on Thursday morning itself. Not only this, CM Mamta Banerjee is also going to go to Rampurhat today, where some houses were burnt in the violence between TMC workers. In this incident, 8 people died due to burning alive.
However, locals say that 10 people have died in the violence. In fact, on Monday, a TMC panchayat leader Bhadu Sheikh was killed by a bomb. After this, the houses of people belonging to a faction of TMC were burnt in the violence. The administration has accepted that 8 people were burnt alive in this. The administration, which was facing the allegation of not taking action in this matter in the initial phase, is also now seen to be in action. So far 23 people have been arrested in this case. One person has been arrested in connection with the bomb attack. Apart from this, 22 people have also been arrested for their involvement in the arson case.
The police have registered two separate cases in this whole matter. Apart from this, forensic and SIT teams are engaged in investigation after reaching the spot. Let us inform that Mamta Banerjee is also going to reach the spot today. He had indicated this in a program on Wednesday. Apart from this, the hearing of this case is again in the High Court today, in which it has asked the government to present the report. Earlier, Leader of Opposition in the state Shubendu Adhikari had gone to Rampur Haat and met the families of the victims. The officer has demanded investigation of this case by NIA or CBI. Not only this, he says that there is a situation of jungle raj in the state and President’s rule should be imposed to deal with it.
