BJP has announced the names of five candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections. Union Minister L Murugan from Madhya Pradesh and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav from Odisha have got tickets. According to the list released by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, names of four candidates have been announced from Madhya Pradesh state. Whereas the name of one candidate has been announced from Odisha.
These leaders will go to Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh
BJP has fielded Union Minister Dr. L. from Madhya Pradesh. It has been decided to send Murugan, Umesh Nath Maharaj, Maya Narolia and Bansilal Gurjar to Rajya Sabha. All these leaders will also file their nominations soon. Many senior BJP leaders may also be present in his nomination.
Union Minister will go to Rajya Sabha with the support of BJD
If Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnav and L Murugan win the elections, it will be their second term in the Rajya Sabha. The Railway Minister will be elected with the support of Vaishnav’s state’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD). As happened during the election of the former IAS officer for the first term in 2019. Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has also announced its support to BJP candidate Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Elections will be held on three seats in Odisha. BJP has already announced the names of two candidates. Debashish Samantre and Shubhashish Khuntia have filed nomination papers as Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidates in Odisha. Samantre is a former BJD MLA and Khuntia is the leader of BJD’s youth cell.
BJP can win 4 seats and Congress one seat in Madhya Pradesh
Let us tell you that in terms of numerical strength in Madhya Pradesh, BJP can win four seats while Congress can win one seat. Congress has not yet announced the name of its candidate. According to sources, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath wants to go to Rajya Sabha but the party has not yet officially announced anyone’s name. Murugan, Minister of State in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was earlier also a Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh.
Last date for nomination tomorrow
Earlier, BJP had announced the names of seven candidates from UP for the Rajya Sabha elections. Elections for 56 Rajya Sabha seats in 15 states of the country are to be held on February 27. The last date for filing nomination is 15 February.
