New Delhi. BJP has announced its list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, revealing the candidates for 10 constituencies. The party has announced candidates for the seats of Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Chandigarh. Candidates have been announced for seven seats in Uttar Pradesh. Jaiveer Singh Thakur has been given ticket from Mainpuri. Vinod Sonkar has been made the candidate from Kaushambi (reserved seat).

Praveen Patel has been made the candidate from Phulpur, while the ticket of Kaseri Devi Patel from Phulpur has been canceled and in her place MLA Praveen Patel has been made the candidate by BJP. Neeraj Tripathi from Allahabad, Neeraj Shekhar from Ballia, Parasnath Rai from Ghazipur and B.P. from Machlishahr. Saroj has been given the ticket. Sanjay Tandon has been given ticket from Chandigarh. The ticket of Kirron Kher, who has been MP from this seat twice, has been canceled. Kirron Kher won the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and 2019.
The BJP list has announced candidates for 9 seats, out of which BJP had won 7 seats in 2019. However, only 2 sitting MPs have been given tickets from Machhilishahr and Kaushambi, while tickets of 4 sitting MPs have been cut. Babul Supriyo, who won the Asansol seat on BJP ticket in 2019, had already resigned and joined TMC.
From Uttar Pradesh, tickets have been given to Jaiveer Singh Thakur from Mainpuri, Vinod Sonkar from Kaushambi, Praveen Patel from Phulpur, Neeraj Tripathi from Allahabad, Neeraj Shekhar from Ballia, BP Saroj from Machhilishahr and Paras Nath Rai from Ghazipur. Rita Bahuguna Joshi was MP from Allahabad. Allahabad candidate Neeraj Tripathi is the son of former governor Kesharinath Tripathi. Apart from this, SS Ahluwalia has been given ticket from Asansol seat of West Bengal. Initially, Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh was nominated by BJP from this seat but later he withdrew his candidature. TMC has fielded actor Shatrughan Sinha as its candidate from this seat.
BJP has so far announced candidates for more than 425 seats for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In Uttar Pradesh, which has 80 seats, BJP is contesting on 74 seats. Meanwhile, there will be allies like RLD on 2 seats and Anupriya Patel’s own party will contest the elections. One seat each has been given to Nishad Party and Rajbhar’s party. BJP has announced candidates for 69 out of 74 seats. BJP first released the list of 195 candidates. Then separate lists of 72, 9 and 16 candidates were released.
