Mumbai . Political controversy over ‘Hindi language’ in Maharashtra is increasing. The Bharatiya Janata Party retaliated after the Joint March announcement by MNS and Shiv Sena-UBT. The BJP showed the mirror to Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray and said that they are doing drama. BJP MLA Ram Kadam said, “See the drama of Uddhav Thackeray’s team. In February 2022, when Uddhav Thackeray himself was the Chief Minister, he accepted the Hindi language. Now he is taking to the streets opposing the same language.”
Uday Samanta, a minister in the Maharashtra government, clarified that Hindi is not mandatory. Hindi has not been strictly done. He has made big allegations against Uddhav Thackeray and said, “Earlier a committee was formed under the chairmanship of Uddhav Thackeray himself. It was decided to make Hindi mandatory in that committee. Those who had accepted the proposal of Hindi strictness, they (Uddhav Thackeray) are agitating.”
BJP leader Ashish Shelar said, “Uddhav Thackeray worked to accept Hindi under the National Education Policy in 2022 while being the Chief Minister. Based on the report of the Commission, Hindi was included in the triple, it should be taken care of by Uddhav Thackeray.”
Ashish Shelar retaliated, saying, “When there was a Congress government in 1968, the National Education Policy came. Uddhav Thackeray is a friend of Congress, he should know.”
The BJP leader also surrounded Raj Thackeray and said, “I want to say to the MNS chief that the Congress had decided to make Hindi mandatory from 5th to 7th. At that time Uddhav Thackeray did not say anything, while we removed the imperative. The student can decide on his own will.”
The BJP is also getting the support of its colleagues in Maharashtra on the Hindi dispute. Saina NC, leader of Shiv Sena-Shinde faction, said on the opposition’s opposition, “All this is being done only for BMC elections. Both Thackeray Bhai are doing all this only for politics.”
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said, “Hindi is our national language and opposing Hindi means opposing the Constitution.”
He appealed to the people of Maharashtra, saying, “Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray should not take any wrong decision.”
