New Delhi. Elections are to be held for the Rajya Sabha, the country’s largest house, on June 10 for 4 seats in the state of Rajasthan, in which the MLAs of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly will vote. The votes of 41 MLAs are required for each seat in Rajasthan and the Congress has fielded candidates with three big faces namely Randeep Singh Surjewala, Mukul Wasnik and Pramod Tiwari. 123 MLAs are needed to win these three seats, but the Congress has only 109 MLAs in the house and the support of the remaining 16 independent MLAs was seen in favor of the Congress. BJP has also made senior leader of Rajasthan Ghanshyam Tiwari as the candidate of Rajya Sabha elections with its lotus symbol. That is, there was no problem in all four seats, but the matter became serious when BJP-backed Subhash Chandra has also jumped on the lines of the fifth candidate in the fray. Subhash Chandra’s candidature has dimmed the third face of the Congress and that is why the captives and MLAs are being monitored. In fact, there is anger among the local MLAs due to the fact that all the three candidates from Congress are from outside Rajasthan.
Senior BJP MLA and BJP state vice-president Madan Dilawar has accused the Ashok Gehlot government of spying on him and other BJP MLAs through the police in the run-up to the elections. Dilawar tagged Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and posted some photos while tweeting and wrote that “What is the fear of losing Rajya Sabha, if you want to see, then see the attitude of the Chief Minister for the last few days! @ashokgehlot51 Sir, instead of spying on MLAs, if the police had been engaged to improve law and order, then today the state would not have been on the top in the category of crime. Today the work done by the police at your behest in Aravali Enclave, Jaipur (MLA’s residence) is highly condemnable.”
BJP MLA from Kota South, Sandeep Sharma, on the charge of spying on MLAs, also took a dig at the Ashok Gehlot government, saying that “The Chief Minister, who conducted espionage in the house of MLAs for fear of defeat in the Rajya Sabha elections, would have made the police chase criminals with the same promptness.” So Matloob Ahmed, the main accused absconding till date of Karauli violence, would also have been behind the bars.
In fact, there is a huge division between the Congress’ own MLAs, the conflict between the two factions is evident, so the Chief Minister wants to create immoral pressure on the MLAs by misusing the police administration.
