New Delhi. Extending the ED remand of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in the Delhi liquor scam case, the court today sent him to Tihar Jail in judicial custody till April 15. After this, the entire opposition including Kejriwal was targeted by BJP. Taking a dig at the manner in which all the parties appeared in support of Kejriwal in the opposition’s mega rally held at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, BJP said that the entire opposition is engaged in saving the ‘self-proclaimed staunch and honest Chief Minister’ Kejriwal.

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi, through a press conference, targeted the entire opposition including Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party. He said that the ‘self-proclaimed staunchly honest Chief Minister of Delhi’ Arvind Kejriwal, who is surrounded by serious allegations of corruption, has been supported by political parties who are old accused of corruption and involved in old crimes. He said that an attempt was also made to use emotional grounds for this, but today the decision given by the court to send Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody for 15 days is on factual basis.
Sudhanshu sarcastically said that Anna Hazare used to be Kejriwal’s ‘guru’, the guru had said that he would not join politics, the ‘disciple’ joined politics and also became the CM. But yesterday there was another rally where he changed his ‘guru’. Now Lalu Prasad Yadav is the ‘guru’. He said that when Lalu Yadav was going to jail, at least he had resigned from his post but Kejriwal has not resigned yet. Citing media reports, he said that Kejriwal has named in the ED’s interrogation that liquor scam accused Vijay Nair used to report to AAP ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj. It is also becoming clear from this why Kejriwal was avoiding coming before the ED. He said that the position of Delhi government on liquor policy is becoming clear. It remains to be seen whether Kejriwal resigns or turns towards new politics.
