BLA closed Quetta-Karachi highway, set fire in many government buildings

Quetta. Fateh Squad of Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in Baloch province of Pakistan closed the Quetta-Karachi highway and searched the vehicles. These included passenger vehicles.

BLA members entered the Mongachar market of Kalat and vandalized several government buildings and set it on fire. These included buildings like National Database and Registration Authority, Judicial Campus and National Bank of Pakistan.

According to security sources, these offices have suffered heavy losses. The attackers escaped before the security forces arrived from the area.

The responsibility of this attack is taken by BLA’s Fateh Squad, who called it his action under “struggle of freedom”.

Security officials started the operation in the area and traffic was restored at the National Highway (N-25).

Meanwhile, a police vehicle was also attacked by BLA militants in Mongachar area, in which prisoners were being brought to Quetta from jail. The terrorists rescued at least 10 prisoners and took five policemen hostage.

It was told that this police vehicle was being brought from Gadani jail to send inmates to the central jail of Quetta and Mach. When this vehicle reached Mongochar area, the terrorists blocked the highway and searched the vehicle.

During this time, he rescued the prisoners from the police vehicle and took five policemen and took their weapons along.

Police officials confirmed the incident, saying that two policemen who were in plain clothes were safe.

Political analyst Kamran Yusuf said that the way the terrorists blocked the highway, searched vehicles and set government buildings on fire, indicating that their purpose was to rescue prisoners from jail.

He said, “The terrorists knew that the prisoners would be in police vehicles somewhere and they carried out these attacks under this strategy.”

He also said that the incident creates concerns about the security situation in Balochistan and shows that the support networks of groups like BLA remain a serious challenge for security forces.
