Sriganganagar. In view of the ongoing tension on the Indo-Pak border and violation of the ceasefire, District Collector (Assistance) and Disaster Management President Dr. Manju has issued an important order. According to this order issued under the Civil Protection Rules 1968, the district will have complete blackouts from 7 pm to sunrise every day from today i.e. from 10 May 2025. This step has been taken in view of recent activities and potential security threats on the border. The order clearly states that during this period all citizens will have to keep all types of lights closed inside and outside their private, public and commercial buildings. Any type of light emissions will be completely banned. If necessary, the arrangement of light should be made in such a way that it is not visible at all outside the house or building.

Establishment owners must ensure that the lights of outer bulbs and CCTV cameras are also closed while returning home. Special instructions have also been issued for individuals and vehicles on the road.
As soon as the danger siren is played, people will have to stop on the roadside immediately and stop all the lights of vehicles. Even the mobile phone has been ordered to be placed on aeroplane mode so that there is no screen light when the call comes. Although departments associated with essential services are exempted from this order, they have to ensure that the lights they use do not appear out.
These services include hospitals, ambulances, police, home guards, civil security, fire departments, electricity, water supply and communication services, as well as those personnel whose duty is determined by the district administration. The District Collector has given a clear warning that punitive and legal action will be taken against any person or institution violating this order under the Civil Protection Act, 1968 and the Indian Justice Code, 2023.

It is considered an important step to further strengthen security system in the blackout area amid increasing stress on the border and violation of ceasefire.
