India is the only country in the world where the number of tigers is the highest. Tigers are present in the forests from Madhya Pradesh to Karnataka-Uttarakhand. A bad news has come from the Satpura Tiger Reserve of Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh. Here the forest department team found a tiger dead. After investigation, officials say that at first glance it seems that this tiger died in the battle of two tigers. This is not the first case when a tiger has died in a regional battle, in the last five years more than a dozen tigers have been killed in such bloody conflicts. Why is there a fatal fight between male tigers in the forest? IFS officer Sunny Dev Chaudhary, who kept a close watch on the tigers to know this, spoke. Know what interesting things he told.
Why do tigers fight?
IFS officer Sunny Dev Chaudhary said that the biggest reason for this bloody war between the tigers is the regional battle. That is, the battle of the area. Every male tiger has its own area. How big this area is, it decides himself. The distance of the area is fixed based on the availability of food and other things. This area can range from 20 square kilometers to 150 square kilometers. The higher the density of tigers in the area, the greater the possibility of fighting.
Does the tigress also fight?
When we asked the forest officer whether tigers fight for the tigress also like this? In response to this, Sunny Dev Chaudhary said, “Scientifically this cannot be said. It is seen in very few cases. So whatever battle takes place, it is about capturing or infiltration of someone’s area.”
How do tigers decide their territory?
The IFS officer said that tigers often leave their smell and decide their area. They form a limit by claws or urinating around the area in which they live. This is the reason why nail marks are found on trees. This is a sign for other tigers not to try to enter the region. The forest official said that when a tiger enters someone’s area, there is a fight between the two, in which the weak tiger is badly injured and dies after a few days later.
12 -year -old tiger dies
An official said that on Tuesday, the patrol team found 11 to 12-year-old tiger T-66 dead in the reserve beet, after which they immediately reported the case to the officers. STR Deputy Director Rishibha Singh Netam said that no hunting marks were found by forest workers and veterinarians inspecting the scene and all the parts of the tiger’s body were safe. Therefore, the cause of prima facie death is fighting with any other tiger in the area. Currently, viscera has been sealed under the protocol of forensic investigation. After the post -mortem, the body was destroyed as per rules. Explain that there are nine tiger sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh, including Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Satpura, Pench and Panna Sanctuary.
