Ranchi. The body of a young man was found hanging from a tree in the forest area in Akari police station area of Khunti district of Jharkhand. He was identified as Ram Singh Munda, 35, a resident of Dungi village, a CPI-Male activist. Family members have feared his murder. The police is investigating the case.
Guruva Munda, the elder brother of Ram Singh Munda and the Block Block Secretary of CPI-Male, told that Ram Singh had left for defecation on the evening of 23 April, but did not return. Even after much research, when he was not found, he was lodged in the police station on Friday. Two days later, some people saw his body hanging from a tree in the Delil Jungle.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it for postmortem. According to the police, after the postmortem report, it will be clear whether the case is of murder or suicide.
Guruva Munda, the elder brother of the deceased, has feared murder due to a land dispute. He says that Ram Singh Munda was having a dispute with some people over land. Ram Singh Munda’s wife has also demanded an impartial inquiry, fearing the murder.
On Sunday, Ram Singh Munda was cremated in the village. A large number of people gathered in the last journey. On behalf of the party, a red flag of CPI-ML was dedicated to the body of Ram Singh Munda and gave a final farewell.
A large number of people including the party’s Panchpargana Area Committee Secretary Shukdev Munda, Rameshwar Munda, Dulal Munda, Gaur Singh Munda, Dalagovind Munda, Lakhimani Munda, Mangla Munda, Gautam Munda, Bono Munda, Budhanlal Munda, Sanika Munda attended a large number of people.
