In India which is becoming digital, most of the passengers now book tickets online, so that they do not have to wait for hours in long queues at the railway ticket counters.
There are many platforms available to book tickets online.
Nowadays, there are many mobile apps and websites to book railway tickets online, from where you can book tickets online for your journey. But the thing to note here is that when you book tickets from the mobile apps and websites of private companies, you have to pay many types of extra charges, which can be saved. Today we are going to tell you such a way to book tickets online, by which you can save a lot of money on online ticket booking.
Save Rs 104 on a single ticket from IRCTC
We booked a ticket in third AC of Swatantrata Senani Express train from Varanasi to Delhi on a mobile app of a private company. We paid a total of Rs 1244 for this ticket. But when we booked a ticket for the same class, in the same train, for the same destination on IRCTC’s mobile app, we had to pay only Rs 1140. That is, we directly saved Rs 104 by booking tickets for the same destination, same train and same class through different mobile apps.
Private companies levy many types of charges
When we checked the price breakup of tickets booked through both the mobile apps, we found that the private company is charging convenience fee, agent service charge and payment gateway charge separately for booking tickets through its mobile app, whereas no such charges are levied for booking tickets through IRCTC mobile app.
