New Delhi. The violence arising out of the ongoing border dispute between Maharashtra-Karnataka is not taking the name of stopping. You can guess the serious situation just by the fact that NCP chief Sharad Pawar has even demanded the intervention of the Centre. Although the border dispute between the two states is years old, but after the visit of the leaders of Maharashtra to Karnataka, this dispute has taken a violent turn. The situation is that somewhere stones are being pelted at those coming from Maharashtra to Karnataka, and somewhere the vehicles are being blackened. The Karnataka tour is being opposed by Maharashtra leaders.
Actually, this entire controversy has arisen over Belgaum. Although geographically it is located in Karnataka, but Maharashtra stakes its claim on it, while Karnataka claims it as its own. Overall, the border dispute between the two states continues, but now this dispute has assumed the form of violence, after which a political tussle has arisen in both the states. NCP chief Sharad Pawar has even told Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai that if the violence does not stop for 24 hours, Bommai will be directly responsible for all this. Pawar has issued the said statement in a stern tone. Along with this, he has also demanded intervention from the Center.
At the same time, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has spoken to the Karnataka Chief Minister over the phone regarding the ongoing border dispute between the two states. Fadnavis, during a phone conversation with Bommai, expressed his displeasure over the ongoing violence over the border dispute. He has also demanded to raise this issue in the winter session of Parliament. At the same time, Devendra Fadnavis said on the ongoing violence over the border dispute that no village in Maharashtra will go to Karnataka, rather our government will take back villages like Belgaum, Nippani and Karawar.
He further said that even in the Supreme Court, we will strongly present our case and will take care of our Marathi language villages. However, there has been a ruckus in the politics of both the states regarding this whole issue. The process of war-and-war continues between the political representatives of both the states. Now in such a situation, what direction will this whole matter take in the coming days. Everyone’s eyes will be fixed on this.
