Pune. Shocking revelations are being made continuously in the case of two people being crushed to death by a Porsche car in Pune, Maharashtra. The price of the Porsche Taycan involved in this fatal accident in India is between Rs 1.6 crore to Rs 2.4 crore. This luxury car was running on the roads without number registration since March this year. Now RTO has told that due to mere Rs 1758 its rich owner had not completed the registration.
The owner of this Porsche Taycan, Vishal Aggarwal, is a big builder of the city. According to the RTO official, he had preferred the number MH12-WQ2000 for his car. For this he had also paid Rs 45,000, but then the registration process was abandoned midway. He said, ‘Rs 1758 is charged for hypothecation, smart card and postal charges to complete the registration, but the owner did not pay the fees and left the registration process midway.’

Sanjeev Bhor, Pune’s regional transport officer, said, ‘All electric vehicles (EVs), whether two-wheelers or high-end four-wheelers, have been exempted from paying motor vehicle or road tax and registration fees. For other petrol-diesel vehicles, the road tax (valid for 15 years) is 20% of the on-road price of the vehicle. It is learned that on April 18, that car had come to the RTO office and was checked.’

Along with this he said, ‘The owner bought a favorite number (MH12 WQ2000) for the car and paid for it. However, a fee of Rs 1,758 was pending to complete the registration, hence the registration could not be completed and the number was not given. We don’t know why the owner did not complete the process.
Another RTO official said, ‘If the car was not an EV, around Rs 50 lakh would have been paid as road tax and registration fees. Considering that the car is worth at least Rs 2.25 crore, around Rs 45 lakh would have been paid as road tax and Rs 5,000 as registration fees.’
