Market. A tourist from Delhi has died due to drowning in a ravine under suspicious circumstances in Joginder Nagar of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The matter is Machhayal Khad of Joginder Nagar. It is being told that this young man jumped after seeing his two friends drowning in the ravine. Both the companions survived, but the young man from Delhi lost his life.
According to the information, four people from Delhi, Sikkim and Maharashtra had come together to visit Himachal. All these people were staying in a home stay in Chaugan, Beed. On Wednesday afternoon, all these friends had reached Machhayal Khad of Sainthal Panchayat for fun. Then the girl from Sikkim and the young man from Maharashtra went down to take bath in the ravine. During this time, a young man and a girl suddenly drowned in a ravine while taking bath. Seeing his friends drowning, 28-year-old Balwant alias Bunty jumped into the ravine.
In this accident, a young man from Maharashtra and a girl from Sikkim survived, but Balwant died due to drowning. After receiving information about the incident, the local police has taken possession of the body and started further action. Jogindernagar police station executive in-charge Govind Paul said that the family members of the deceased youth have been informed.
The body will be handed over to the relatives after post-mortem on Thursday. The matter has been confirmed by DSP Padhar Dinesh Kumar. He said that the body has been brought to Civil Hospital Joginder Nagar for post-mortem. The police have recorded the statements of the companions of the deceased youth. Further action is underway in the case. The deceased youth has been identified as Balwant alias Bunty, son of Teerth Singh, House No. 48/8, Street No. 37, Kosib Enclave, Near Balaji Mandir, Delhi 84.
