In a major political development in Rajasthan on Sunday, Bharat Adivasi Party MLA Jaikrishna Patel was arrested by the Anti -Corruption Bureau (Trap) from Bagidaura. This is the first case in the history of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly when an MLA has been implicated. The ACB will soon present Patel in the court and ask for his remand for questioning.
Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani said that the court will first decide the punishment in this case and only then his assembly membership will be processed. However, the service rules in the case of state government employees are that the employee is suspended from service within 24 hours of going to jail after being caught by ACB.
The sword is also hanging on the BJP MLA.
Apart from Jai Krishna Patel, the membership of BJP MLA Kanwar Lal Meena is also in danger. The High Court has sentenced him to three years in jail. Deewani says that in this case he has not yet received a certified copy of the court order, when it approaches them, action will be taken as per rules.
After the arrest of MLA Jaikrishna, the ACB team has been interrogating the MLA’s gunman, driver, cook and those who run his social media handle since Sunday evening.
