RML Bribe Case: A big scandal of corruption and bribery has come to light in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital of the capital Delhi. A total of 9 people, including two senior doctors, have been arrested in the raid conducted after the information received by the CBI. Both these doctors were working on the posts of Professor and Assistant Professor in the Cardiology Department of the hospital. Whereas the rest of the people include cath lab staff, nurses and clerical staff.
According to the FIR lodged by the CBI, all these people were taking bribe from the representatives of the commercial company to fix the supply of medical equipment in the hospital. Among these, Assistant Professor of Cardiology Department, Parvatgowda was caught red-handed by the CBI on May 7 while taking bribe. Apart from this, Professor Ajay Raj of the same department is accused of taking bribe to get the medical devices of the companies installed in the hospital.
In this case, FIR has been registered in the names of 16 people including senior technical incharge of RML Cath Lab Rajneesh Kumar, clerks Bhuvan Jaiswal and Sanjay Kumar Gupta, nurse Shalu Sharma, Nagpal Technologies owner Naresh Nagpal, Bharat Singh Dalal of Bharti Medical Technology and Abrar Ahmed. According to the FIR, sources told CBI that Dr. Parvat Gowda had demanded bribe from Naresh Nagpal of Nagpal Technologies on May 2 to install medical equipment in the hospital. In such a situation, Naresh Nagpal is going to give about Rs 2 lakh 48 thousand on 7th May.
Had taken bribe before also
The source said that earlier Parvatagowda had also demanded bribe from a person named Abrar Ahmed and Abrar had transferred Rs 1 lakh 95 thousand to the account of Parvatagowda’s father.
