Britain Election Survey: General elections may be held in Britain this year. Recently, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak himself had indicated that elections could be held at the end of this year. Meanwhile, a survey has come out before the elections to be held in Britain. A shocking claim has been made in the survey. The survey regarding the elections has said that British PM Rishi Sunak may face a setback in the upcoming general elections. The opinions of more than 18 thousand people have been included in the survey regarding the British general elections. The survey has predicted the defeat of the ruling Conservative Party led by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The survey projected the opposition Labor Party to win 403 seats, more than the 326 seats needed for a majority.
Sunak’s popularity decreased
A survey of 18,000 people conducted by YouGov on Wednesday said that the figures show that the popularity of British PM Rishi Sunak has declined. Not only this, this defeat will be worse than the reign of former Prime Minister John Major in 1997. When the Labor Party led by Tony Blair defeated him. Then Tory Party had won 165 seats. At the same time, Blair won 418 out of 659 House of Commons seats.
Ministers may face defeat
Lord David Frost, former Brexit Secretary and a major critic of PM Sunak, has commented on this survey. He said that according to the new survey, the Conservative Party has become desperate. The most prominent members of Parliament who could lose their House of Commons seats include Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, Science Minister Michelle Donnellan and Minister Michael Gove. Not only this, in most of the surveys conducted before the elections, the Labor Party is seen getting an lead over the Conservatives.
What does the Best for Britain survey say?
It is noteworthy that before YouGov, the Best for Britain survey was also released recently. It was even said in this survey that Prime Minister Sunak himself would not be able to save his seat. The survey said that the ruling Conservative Party may face a major defeat in the general elections. Best for Britain had taken the opinion of 15,029 people before this survey. In the report based on the survey, the opposition Labor Party was placed on top with 45 percent vote share, an increase of 19 percent compared to the Conservatives. It also said that the Labor Party may be reduced to less than 100 seats this time.
