New Delhi. The Home Ministry has taken an unprecedented action by removing Nitin Agarwal from the post of BSF DG and sending him to his original cadre Kerala. Apart from this, BSF Special DG YB Khurania has also been removed from his post and sent to his original cadre Odisha. The Home Ministry has described this action as the premature return of officers to their original cadre. Perhaps this is the first time that the Home Ministry has decided to remove the DG and Special DG of a central force together.

It is believed that Nitin Agarwal and YB Khurania were removed from the top posts of BSF due to not taking effective action against the ongoing terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The reason for the removal of both the officers is also believed to be the lack of effective prevention of smuggling of drones, weapons and drugs from the border with Pakistan in Punjab. No officer has been appointed to the post of DG and Special DG of BSF yet. Nitin Agarwal is an IPS of 1989 batch and YB Khurania is of 1990 batch. Nitin Agarwal was given the command of BSF in June 2023.

Let us tell you that in the last two months, there has been an increase in terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Especially in the Jammu region, terrorists are constantly targeting the common people and the army. According to the information, these are Pakistani terrorists. Obviously, the terrorists came by crossing the LOC and the border. In such a situation, questions have been raised on the infiltrators getting a chance to enter India easily. Now the Union Home Ministry has shown by taking a big action that it can take any step to effectively stop terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Everyone’s eyes are now on who is made the DG and Special DG of BSF.
