The BSF is responsible for keeping a close watch on smuggling and other criminal activities as well as on intruders. The BSF soldiers perform their duty very well. Another case of their alertness has come to light. The BSF team, along with the Tripura Police, has arrested 12 Bangladeshi intruders.
According to the information, 12 Bangladeshi citizens who entered Tripura without valid documents have been arrested from different parts of Tripura. The state police gave this information on Sunday. Acting on intelligence about the presence of Bangladeshi citizens, raids were conducted in Lankamura, Joynagar and Ramnagar under West Agartala Police Station on Saturday night. During this, 12 people including three women were arrested. BSF and Tripura Police had jointly carried out this action.

Officer-in-charge of West Agartala Police Station, Kanti Bardhan, said that during interrogation, the Bangladeshis have admitted to entering India from Bangladesh without valid documents. They have been arrested on charges of violating the Indian Passport Act. He said that due to increased infiltration, the police have increased vigilance in the border areas. The police officer said that surveillance is being increased on the border, as this matter is considered sensitive. The police will continue such operations to catch the infiltrators.
