BSNL has increased the tension of private telecom companies Jio, Airtel and Vi (Vodafone Idea). The government telecom company has made a record in adding new users for the first time. Due to the expensive recharge plans of private companies, there has been a tremendous increase in the number of users porting their numbers to BSNL. Apart from this, the government company is soon rolling out 4G network across the country. The company is giving 5G ready SIM cards to new BSNL users.
Add Record New Users
BSNL Andhra Pradesh has shared this information from its official social media handle. BSNL Andhra Pradesh said that more than two lakh new SIMs have been activated in the last 30 days. This is a record in itself. Not only in Andhra Pradesh, the number of BSNL subscribers is increasing tremendously in different telecom circles across India.
Ever since the private telecom companies have started expensive recharge plans, users have started a campaign on social media platforms to port their SIM to BSNL. Not only this, the government company is also setting up camps in different cities of the country to port SIM cards. However, many users have still complained on social media platforms about BSNL’s network and connectivity.
Preparations to boost infrastructure
In this year’s budget, the central government has announced to give more than 82 thousand crore rupees to revive BSNL. This amount will be used to improve the infrastructure of the telecom company. Also, the company is preparing to roll out 4G and 5G technology developed completely in India. BSNL can prove to be a big headache for private telecom companies in the coming time. However, amid the competition from the government telecom company, private companies can also try to keep their average revenue per user stable, so that they do not suffer a big loss.
