There have been about 50 murders in Bihar in the last 15 days. In these incidents, most of the people were shot in broad daylight. Sometimes people were shot in front of Patna’s famous hospital and sometimes on the way. A question behind these incidents emerged rapidly – where did so many bullets come from? The answer to this question turned out to be shocking, when the smuggling racket associated with a gun house in Purnia district was revealed.
Gun house was running business in the name of ‘dead’
The investigation at the huge gun house on Kalabhavan Road in Purnia district surprised the police. Here cartridges were being sold in the name of the deceased people from this gun house running on government license. The name of the deceased in the register was entry, his fake signatures were made and bullets were given to someone else. Then these cartridges were being smuggled to criminals, who were probably carrying out the incidents of murder with these bullets.
Cartridge smugglers caught from Hajipur, open layers
The entire racket was revealed when Patna STF arrested five cartridges smugglers from Hajipur railway station. During interrogation, these smugglers said that they had come to buy bullets from the huge gun house of Purnia and to supply the criminals. After this, the STF and Purnia police jointly raided the gun house and shocking information was found in the investigation of the register.
Frequent cartridges purchased on corpse license
Police investigation revealed that a registered arms license was being used in the name of Jagdish Prasad Nirala, resident of Kumharchaki village in Khagaria district. While this person died in 2024. Nevertheless, a total of 90 cartridges were purchased on 27th, 28 and 29th of June. The smugglers were given cartridges three times in these three days.
Mobile number and identity are also fake
When the police examined the mobile numbers registered in the gun house, they also turned out to be fake. A number was registered in the name of a laborer from Jharkhand. In such a situation, it became clear that arms were being supplied by fraud in a systematic manner.
Gun house seal, screws on operator
On Tuesday, the huge gun house was sealed under the supervision of the magistrate. SP Sweety Sehrawat recommended the cancellation of the license of the gun house to DM Anshul Kumar. At the same time, the police is preparing to take Indrajit Kumar Singh, the operator of the gun house on remand, so that more people are involved in this racket, it can be revealed.
Only three gun houses in Seemanchal, yet smuggled!
According to the information, there are only 3 gun houses in the Seemanchal region – one in Katihar and two in Purnia. There is not a single one in Kishanganj. In such a situation, the question arises that when there is strictness on the purchase and sale of cartridges, then how are such large amounts of bullets reaching criminals?
