Bulandshahr. The court on Friday sentenced 38 convicts in the case of murder of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh in Saina in Saina in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. The court sentenced Prashant Nat, David, Rahul, Joni and Lokendra Mama to life imprisonment, while 33 other convicts were sentenced to seven years imprisonment.
The case is of 3 December 2018, when the villagers were angry after the news of the remnant of the cow dynasty was found in Mahav village of Saina Kotwali area. Angry crowds filled the remains in a tractor-trolley and reached the Chingravathi police post on the Bulandshahr highway and blocked the highway there.
As soon as the atmosphere deteriorated, the mob set fire to the police post and threw stones. Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was killed during this violence.
After the incident, the police registered a case against 38 people. After years of lawsuit, the court has now sentenced five to life imprisonment and the rest to seven years imprisonment, while delivering the verdict against all the culprits.
