A suspense and action encounter was seen in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow late on Wednesday night. The encounter took place in Alambagh area, where there was a shootout between the police and the accused of the robbery. During this, a crook was shot in the leg and was arrested on the spot. He has been identified as Gaurav Kanojia. Cash, illegal weapons and bikes have been recovered from him, while one of his companions managed to escape by getting a chance.
Conducting a case of robbery from conductor made reason for police action
The encounter is associated with a robbery incident on 22 May. On that day, three bike riding miscreants looted the contract conductor Chaman Kumar of Azamgarh depot at around 12:15 pm outside the metro station outside the Alambagh bus terminal. Not only ₹ 15,800 cash, but ticket book, load ticket and e-ticket machine were also looted from the conductor. Soon after the incident, the conductor informed the police, after which the police intensified the search for the accused.
How did the encounter
Late on Wednesday, police received information that two suspects were riding on the bike near the ACP Cantt office. The Alambagh police immediately took the front and surrounded the suspects. On seeing the police, the miscreants started firing, in response, the police also took action. Meanwhile, a crook Gaurav Kanojia was shot in the leg and he fell injured. He has been arrested and admitted to a nearby hospital.

Police say that Gaurav is the main accused in the robbery case from the conductor. He has already been involved in criminal activities. His partner Shubham aka Shivam took advantage of the darkness and escaped from the spot, whose search is on.
The third accused has been arrested earlier
In this robbery case, the police have already arrested another accused Piyush Verma, resident Naka, on Monday. Piyush had exposed the robbery plan and the names of the people involved in the interrogation, on the basis of which the remaining accused were being tried.
