New Delhi. In the 31st match of the Indian Premier League, there was a competition between two table topper teams. Kolkata Knight Riders team came to bat after losing the toss against Rajasthan Royals and scored 223 runs for 6 wickets on the basis of Sunil Narine’s stormy century. Jos Buttler single-handedly turned the tide of the match and scored a century to give victory to Rajasthan team in the last over.
Butler’s match winning century
Jos Buttler played another innings just as he had led the team to victory by scoring a century against RCB. This Rajasthan opener single-handedly turned the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Butler, who made his fifty with the help of 5 fours and 1 six in 36 balls, completed his century by hitting 6 sixes and 9 fours in 55 balls.
Rajasthan’s top order failed
Rajasthan Royals team failed to make a good start while chasing the big target of 224 runs from Kolkata. Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Sanju Samson lost wickets in quick succession. The team’s decision to send R Ashwin higher up the order went in vain and he could score only 8 runs. The hero of the last match, Shimron Hetmyer, was out on the first ball itself. Riyan Parag played a quick inning of 34 runs off 14 runs but he too could not last long.
Sunil Narine took wickets after his century
Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir’s trusted player Sunil Narine continued his top form and scored his first century in the IPL. The decision to give the responsibility of opening to the experienced spinner proved to be right and he scored 50 runs in 29 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. Even after this, Narine did not stop the bat and scored a century in 49 balls, hitting 11 fours and 6 sixes. Narine, who made a splash in batting, took 2 important wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. He dismissed Dhruv Jurel and Rovman Powell.
