Upendra Kushwaha.
New Delhi. By-elections are going to be held on two Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar, in which the NDA has announced its candidates. RLM President Upendra Kushwaha will be sent to Rajya Sabha from one seat. In this regard, Upendra Kushwaha shared information on social media platform X. He informed that his nomination will now be on August 21 instead of August 20. Upendra Kushwaha will file nomination papers on August 21 at 11 am.
21st August is the last day for filing nominations for the Rajya Sabha by-election. BJP’s candidate will contest on the second seat. The state unit has shortlisted the names of the potential candidates and sent them to the central leadership. It is likely that the name of the candidate may be announced in this regard today.
These two seats in Bihar fell vacant when Misa Bharti and Vivek Thakur won the Lok Sabha elections and became members of Parliament. The Election Commission had issued a notification on August 14, in which the last date for filing nominations has been fixed as August 21. Scrutiny of nominations will be held on August 22 and the time for withdrawal of nominations is August 27.
My nomination for Rajya Sabha membership will now be held on August 21, not on August 20.

Upendra Kushwaha, who is the NDA’s Rajya Sabha candidate, lost the last Lok Sabha election from his Karakat seat. The Karakat seat was won by Rajaram Singh of the Left party, in which actor Pawan Singh also contributed to contesting as an independent. After this defeat, there were also talks of infighting in the NDA. Now the NDA has tried to reduce Upendra Kushwaha’s discontent by sending him to the Rajya Sabha. It is worth mentioning that Kushwaha keeps coming and going in the NDA. First he merged his party with JDU, then separated and formed RLM.
