The government has decided to increase the minimum support price of Kharif crops. This will transfer Rs 2 lakh crore to the farmers’ accounts. The new MSP of paddy will be Rs 2300. It has been increased by Rs 170. In 2013-14, it was Rs 1310.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, PM Narendra Modi gives priority to the farmers and in today’s cabinet, minimum support price has been fixed for 14 crops for the Kharif season. The Prime Minister wants that the MSP should be one and a half times. You will see this in the MSP that has been fixed this time. The MSP of cotton has been increased by Rs 501. Earlier its MSP was 7121, which has been increased to Rs 7521.
Ashwini Vaishnav said, Nafed has made a very good app, through which it will be easy for farmers to sell oilseeds. A target has been set to build 2 lakh warehouses in the country, work is now being done on that matter. A lot of work has been done to keep the prices of fertilizers low. Fertilizer prices in India are still much lower than in other countries of the world.
