In Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, a woman was raped by a Tantrik in the name of exorcism. Now the court has sentenced the Tantrik to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment. A fine of Rs 16 thousand has also been imposed. After hearing all the witnesses and evidence in this trial that lasted for a year, Additional Sessions Court Judge Subodh Singh has given this sentence. The victim women and their families have praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for getting immediate justice under Operation Punishment.
The whole matter is of a Gram Sabha of Koirauna police station area. The matter is more than a year old. Where on October 13, 2023, a fake Tantrik Baba made a woman a victim of his lust in the name of exorcism. An innocent village woman had approached Baba for the solution of her problem. In the name of removing the tantric obstacle, he first raped her and then tried to extort money from the victim woman by threatening her.
Bhadohi Superintendent of Police Dr. Meenakshi Katyayan said that the victim showed courage and filed a case against 45-year-old impostor Baba Motilal. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police took immediate action and arrested the accused Motilal and presented him in the court.
Superintendent of Police Dr. Meenakshi Katyayan said that accused Motilal had threatened the victim not to tell anyone about the incident. Dr. Meenakshi told that the local police has collected all the evidence and filed a charge sheet against the accused in the Honorable Court. SP said that it is the result of the effective advocacy of local police, monitoring cell and ADGC Pravesh Tiwari in the registered case that on December 6, 2024, Honorable Additional Sessions Judge/Fast Track Court (First)/Women Harassment Judge Honorable Subodh Singh resolved the impasse. The accused has been sentenced for raping the girl, demanding money and threatening her.
