In this study, data of more than 19 thousand adults from the US, Korea and Japan was analyzed. It was found that regular drinking for a long time can make people high BP patients.
According to the researchers, the study revealed that people who drink an average of 12 grams of alcohol (about one peg of alcohol) per day, their systolic blood pressure can increase by 1.25 mmHg. People who drink an average of 48 grams i.e. 4 pegs of alcohol per day, their systolic BP can increase by 4.9 mmHg. According to the scientists who conducted the research, people who are suffering from the problem of high blood pressure should avoid consuming alcohol regularly. Doing so can have a bad effect on their health and their condition can worsen.
