The shutdown was kept from 21 March 2025 to 20 May 2025 this year. But this time, due to the scorching heat, the officials of the Department of Water had urged the state government and Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to talk to the Punjab government at the state government level and remove the canal embankment in advance, so that people do not have to face drinking water shortage. Following the request of the officials of the Water Supply Department, the state government and Union Minister Shekhawat spoke to the Punjab government and requested to end the shutdown. Which will reach Kayalana and Takht Sea in the next 5 days.
Relief to the people of Jodhpur Phalodi
Additional Engineer of Water Supply Department Dinesh Nagauri said that the current situation has been made that the water level in Kayalana and Takht Sagar has also reduced. At the same time, the water reserves of the main canal between Bikaner and Madasar also dried up. In such a situation, the department requested the government, due to which the canal captive ended 10 days in advance and now people will not have to face the shortage of drinking water. After the arrival of water from the Indira Gandhi Canal, the people of Jodhpur and Phalodi will get a lot of relief.
