A major road accident occurred on Tuesday in Bikaria police station area of the district. A car fell uncontrollably on the Gogunda-Pindwara highway and fell into a ditch about 60 feet deep. Two youths in the car were seriously injured in the accident, who have been immediately referred to Udaipur MB Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when the car reached a turn on the highway at a high speed and the driver’s control from the vehicle was removed. After this, the car fell directly into the ditch. The collision was so tremendous that the car flew away and the vehicle was completely damaged.
Life saved from the readiness of the local people
Soon after the accident, nearby villagers and passersby reached the spot and started rescue work. The injured had to work hard to get out of the ditch. Police and ambulance also reached the spot as soon as the information was received. After first aid, both the injured were sent to Maharana Bhupal (MB) Hospital in Udaipur, where they are undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors.
Identification and status of injured
According to police sources, the identity of the injured is not yet clear, but both the youths are said to be 25 to 30 years of age. Their condition remains critical, and the team of doctors is constantly monitoring. Police is trying to contact family members.
The reason for accidents became high speed
The continuous accidents on the Gogunda-Pindwara highway once again raise the question that how much negligence is being taken on speed control and security standards on the highway. Local people say that the number of high speed vehicles on this route is steadily increasing, but due to lack of roadside warning signals and lack of adequate barricading, the danger has increased even more.
Police engaged in investigation
Bakeria police station reached the spot and inspected the scene and started a system to get the car out of the ditch. Also, it is being investigated whether there was no negligence in the car at the time of the accident or any other negligence.
Demand from administration
Local people and public representatives have demanded from the administration that strict steps should be taken for traffic control on this highway. Also, proper indicators and barricading should be arranged on the dangerous turns of the road, so that such accidents can be prevented in future.
