Hanumangarh. Continuing action against corruption in Rajasthan, the Hanumangarh unit of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested the management faculty Pankaj Chhabra, working at MD College of Education, Hanumangarh Junction on Thursday, taking a bribe of Rs 10,000.
Giving information, Additional Director General of Anti -Corruption Bureau, Smita Srivastava said that ACB Hanumangarh had received a complaint, stating that the accused Pankaj Chhabra was demanding a bribe of Rs 30,000 by showing a bribe of Rs 30,000.
According to the complaint, the accused had already accepted an amount of Rs 18,000 and was demanding the remaining Rs 12,000. After verification of this information, ACB planned trap action.
The action was conducted under the direction of Supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Rajesh Singh, Deputy Inspector General of ACB Zone Bikaner and Sudha Palawat, Additional Superintendent of Hanumangarh. Police Inspector Rajendra Singh and his team carried out the trap operation on Thursday and caught Pankaj Chhabra red handed taking a bribe of Rs 10,000.
Question on education system
This case indicates not only corruption, but also moral decline in higher education institutions. Attempting to raise money by putting a student’s career at stake by a college faculty is a matter of serious concern.
ACB action continues
Pankaj Chhabra is being questioned and an advance investigation has been started by registering a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The ACB has appealed to the common citizens to inform the bureau immediately if they are aware of any kind of bribery or corruption.
