Noida. Another case of corruption has come to light in Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA). Anti Corruption Team Meerut on Saturday arrested Harendra Goswami, an accountant posted in the UP RERA office, taking a bribe of five thousand rupees.
The accused is accused of demanding bribe in lieu of getting the job worried about the delay in flat possession. The case is related to Kuldeep Kumar working as Assistant Director in the Department of Economic Affairs of the Union Finance Ministry. In 2014, Kuldeep booked a flat in the ‘Achar Holmes’ project located in Sector-10, Greater Noida. As per the rules, the possession of the flat was to be found in the year 2018, but the developer neither took the Occupation Certificate (OC) nor the Completion Certificate (CC) nor handed over the possession in 2019. Along with this, the builder also demanded an additional four lakh rupees.
Kuldeep had lodged a complaint of this irregularity in UP RERA. The appeal filed by the builder after investigation was rejected in June 2022. Despite this, for the last three years, Kuldeep could neither get valid possession nor the builder was fined.
Meanwhile, the accountant Harendra Goswami asked Kuldeep to get a bribe of 50 thousand rupees to get his work done early. When Kuldeep expressed his inability to give such a huge amount, Harendra proposed to give five thousand rupees immediately and the remaining amount later. On this, Kuldeep contacted the Anti Corruption Team and lodged a complaint.
As soon as Harendra Goswami took a bribe of five thousand rupees under the pre -planned scheme, the Anti Corruption Team caught him red -handed. Legal action is being taken after bringing the accused to Beta-2 Kotwali.
The victim Kuldeep said that despite being a central officer, he was wandering for justice for three years. Now he wants UP RERA to improve and the victims can get justice in time.
