New Delhi. These days, different types of differences are visible within the Congress party before the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Due to these differences, there is a ruckus in Himachal Pradesh, Congress leaders are continuously leaving the party and there is a stir in the opposition camp across the country. The news is coming out. Internal rebellion is being seen in Congress on many issues. One such issue is that of caste census. The Congress party has raised the issue of caste census in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi is saying that there should be representation in the country according to population ratio. Now in the coming days, Congress party may get divided into two factions on this issue. Senior Congress party leader Anand Sharma has written a letter to party president Mallikarjun Kharge opposing the caste-based census.
Anand Sharma said in his letter, “In my opinion, caste census cannot be a panacea, nor can it solve unemployment and prevailing inequalities.” “In my humble opinion, it would be wrong to consider this as disrespect to the legacy of Mrs. Indira and Mr. Rajiv,” he said. Referring to the slogan given by Indira Gandhi in 1980, “Na jaat par, na paat par, mohar lagegi haath par”, Anand Sharma mentioned the historical aspect of Congress. He said that Rajiv Gandhi had opposed making casteism an election issue in 1990.
