Dr. Sushil Ojha, HOD of Ophthalmology Department of ‘Doon Hospital’, Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, told Local 18 that cataract problems are usually seen with increasing age. This disease starts occurring at the age of 50-60 years, but some children also suffer from this disease. This can happen due to genetic reasons and there can be other reasons as well.
Do not take medicines without consulting a doctor
Dr. Sushil Ojha said that when a woman is pregnant, if she gets viral-flu or infection, she takes some medicines without consulting a doctor. Where the intake of wrong medicines also affects the eyes of the child.
Children can also get cataracts
The doctor said that the child develops some metabolic syndrome. This can also have a bad effect on his eyes and can cause a disease like cataract. Due to lack of growth of both the eyes, it also has a bad effect on the eyes of the children. In such a situation, children can suffer from isolated cataract.
Eyesight can be lost even at a young age
Dr. Ojha said that this disease occurs in the retired age, but the child’s body does not develop in the womb itself, due to which there is a problem in the eyes at the development age itself. Therefore, the mother should take proper food and water during pregnancy itself. He said that medicines should not be taken without consulting a gynecologist.
