New Delhi. There is news of CBI raids at several places of Mamata Banerjee’s TMC MP Mahua Moitra. The investigating agency has raided Mahua Moitra’s house in connection with taking cash and gifts and asking questions in Parliament and giving her parliamentary login and password to businessman Darshan Hiranandani. Mahua Moitra had also lost her membership of Parliament in this case. Recently, Lokpal had asked CBI to investigate the case of Mahua Moitra. CBI has to complete the investigation in 6 months and also has to update the Lokpal about the investigation from time to time.
The first complaint against Mahua Moitra was made by her friend, lawyer Jai Ananth Dehadrai. The complaint made by Jai Anant Dehadrai to CBI was sent by BJP MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. On this, the Lok Sabha Speaker sent the matter to the Ethics Committee. Where after investigation, it was recommended to cancel the Lok Sabha membership of Mahua Moitra. Mahua Moitra is accused of taking money and gifts from Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandani and asking questions in Parliament. Mahua Moitra is also seriously accused of giving parliamentary login and password to Hiranandani. Darshan Hiranandani had also confirmed the allegations against Mahua by giving an affidavit in this case.
Mahua Moitra is considered among the big leaders of TMC. Mamta Banerjee has once again given him ticket for Lok Sabha elections from Krishnanagar seat of Bengal. Now Mahua Moitra’s troubles may increase due to CBI raids. Especially in the matter of giving login and password, he has been seriously accused of working against the country. If CBI arrests Mahua Moitra, it is likely to heat up politics.
