CBI is considered to be one of the most powerful agencies, but a big fraudster fooled it. He kept fooling CBI for 20 years. Later, when the CBI team reached a village searching for him after getting a clue, the sight that they saw left them stunned.
According to CBI, Mahathag V Chalapathi Rao was arrested from a village in Tamil Nadu. For the past 20 years, he was eluding the police and other agencies. He used to change his name frequently. He used to appear in different guises. Not only this, he also created many fake identities. He even got many new Aadhar cards made. He used to cheat people using different names so that no one could identify him.
Big fraud V Chalapathi Rao roamed around in many states. He worked as a computer operator and loan recovery agent. He used to dodge the investigating agency every time. But this time CBI got strong clues. When the CBI team reached Narasimhanallur village in Tamil Nadu in search of him, they were shocked to see him. Here he was living as a spiritual guru. He was wearing saffron clothes so that no one could recognize him.
The CBI said that he was trying to flee abroad. The CBI had registered a case against Rao on May 1, 2002, who was then working as a computer operator at the Chandulal Biradari branch of the State Bank of India in Hyderabad. During this time, he used fabricated quotations and fake salary certificates and withdrew Rs 50 lakh from the bank. After remaining missing for seven years, Rao’s family declared him dead. Meanwhile, he prepared a fake Aadhaar card in the name of M Vineet Kumar and got married again. He was absconding since then.
