New Delhi. After UGC-NET, now the Ministry of Education has handed over the investigation of the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam to the CBI. There is an uproar over the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam and there is a demand to cancel it. However, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has earlier said that the decision to cancel the exam will not be taken now, as the future of thousands of students is linked to it.
On June 5, just before the NEET exam, the paper leak was detected in Bihar. At the same time, a gang was found in Gujarat, which used to send the correct answers on the OMR sheet of the candidates after the examination was over. In Bihar, the Economic Offenses Unit EOU is investigating the paper leak case and has arrested all the accused including the main accused Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu. The name of RJD leader and former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav’s PS Pritam Kumar has also come up in this case. This has heated up the politics further.
At the same time, NTA has also cancelled the NEET-PG exam. The date of this exam will be announced later. Earlier, a UGC-NET exam was also announced to be postponed. Actually, the Modi government now wants that these exams should be conducted with integrity at any cost. For this, the government also implemented the Anti Paper Leak Law late on Friday night. Under the Anti Paper Leak Law, there is a punishment of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 crore. Apart from this, if any institution is found involved in the paper leak, then there is a provision to confiscate its property and recover the entire cost of the exam from it. Bail will also not be granted under the Anti Paper Leak Law. This law was passed by the Modi government in Parliament in February this year.
