Government should focus on bringing back students instead of campaigning: Congress
The Congress on Monday expressed concern over the safety of Indian students stranded in Ukraine. Congress said, instead of campaigning, the central government should focus on bringing back the students from Ukraine. In a statement, Congress said, “The hostile situation in Ukraine must end immediately and humanitarian corridors should be established to bring back civilians safely.”
Congress says, even before the Gulf War, large scale Indians were evacuated from Lebanon and Libya. “The circumstances of military confrontation, casualties, mass destruction and civilian exodus in Ukraine are unacceptable,” the statement said. Congress is very concerned about the thousands of Indians trapped there.
Congress says that Russia, Ukraine and NATO should talk together on all issues and end the conflict. Criticizing the government, the Congress said, it is because of the delay that the students are trapped in the war. It is the responsibility of the government to make all efforts to expel Indian citizens from Ukraine.
