These accused were cheating through QR code. Police investigation has so far revealed a fraud of 22 thousand rupees from 77 people.
Panchkula Police and Haryana Selection Staff Commission jointly stated in a press conference that the fake portal has been closed. After the complaint on 4 June, the QR code on the fake portal was also closed. Haryana Selection Staff Commission member Bhupendra Chauhan told a press conference that the Commission has taken the matter seriously and filed a police complaint.
The police also made the entire matter public on the third day. At the same time, the police also say that in this case they are also investigating whether they were cheating by forming a gang or they are involved in such a case for the first time. The police refused to give more information, although the investigation is still going on. Real more information will be available only after the investigation opens. The accused are between 25 and 40 years old.
According to the police, the fraudsters created a fake website of CET on 29 May. During the registration, the fraudsters took some necessary information from the students, submitted the fees and showed the registration. Haryana Staff Selection Commission member Bhupendra Chauhan said that the commission came to know that some cyber criminals have created a fake website. Taking cognizance of the complaint of some applicants, the Commission lodged a complaint at the cyber police station located in Sector-20.
